Rules and Guidelines for GlitchCon

GlitchCon is dedicated to a inclusive, harassment-free experience for everyone regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any session, including talks. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference [without a refund] at the discretion of the convention organizers.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments [related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion], sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference [with no refund]. If you see anyone doing ANY of these to others or yourself, please approach an NPC to report the incident as soon as possible. You’ll be asked to fill out an incident report form (either on record or anonymously, whichever you prefer), which will be immediately escalated to, depending on the severity, show management, show security, venue security, or local authorities.

Bottom line – please don’t be a jerk and make the conference a fun experience for everyone involved.

Dates & Hours of Operation

Launch Party – Monday, October 8th 7pm – 11pm at Twin Cities PBS

Keynote & Conference – Tuesday, October 9th 12pm – 7pm at Twin Cities PBS. Doors open at 11:30am for lunch.

Do I have to register for the launch party AND conference?

Yes, and we will also be checking IDs at the door upon entry.

Although it’s a free event this year, we still have to be mindful of fire code and enforce security protocols for the festival! Plus, you wouldn’t want us to run out of coffee right? Registering for the event will help us order the right amount of food and drinks so that no one must go without coffee or cheese!

Registration:
Launch Party // Minnecade: Monday, October 8th from 7-11pm
Keynote + Conference: Tuesday, October 9th from 12pm-7pm.

Nursing and Prayer Spaces?

For the first year ever, we’re excited to say HELL YES.

A nursing room is available on the third floor and we’re currently looking for an appropriate room to assign the prayer space. More info will be available on-site!

Any age restrictions?

Nope. But if you’re under 16, make sure you attend the event with a parent or guardian.

Please keep in mind that this event is designed for adults and may not be child friendly. Especially during the Launch Party there will be loud noises and flashing lights.

Refunds and transfers

No refunds are available on badge purchases and all sales are final.

We often help transfer tickers over at no extra charge so please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the event staff or call our office at (320) 321-9361 between 10am-6pm from Monday – Friday.

Is there somewhere to drop-off my bag and coat?

A bag and coat room is available this year at the lobby entrance but is not staffed so please plan accordingly.

GLITCH is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Will I be on camera?

It’s very likely!

Can I take pictures or video?

Yes, GlitchCon is a public event! Cameras are everywhere and attendees understand that they are in the public domain and are likely to be filmed, photographed or recorded.

That said if an exhibitor or guest asks you not to film or photograph a booth or an event please respect their wishes.

What airport should I fly into?

Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
